WeChat users in SG comprises of a demographic of people such as the Chinese who study or work here, Chinese speaking Malaysians, gamers (WeChat games platform), Chinese tourists and targeted youths in SG.

According to the Singapore Tourism Board, more than 3 million (3.227 million) visits were made by Chinese tourists in 2017. Hence, making them the largest overseas tourist base for Singapore.

Youths are one of the targeted demographics for WeChat, following the trend from international youths who are quick to migrate from more recognized social media platforms to mobile social applications. This trend can be anticipated in the Singaporean market as well. According to GlobalWebIndex, WeChat has a 1,021% growth in active users aged 16-19.
